Jones-Trawick Memorial Scholarship

Jones Trawick Memorial Scholarship was founded by Bill Trawick in memory of his classmate, Jerome Calvin Jones, who graduated from Burgaw High School; which had been recently integrated. He went on to attend and earn a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University. This scholarship honors his character and the dignity with which he handled being integrated from an all-black school to a predominantly white school. This scholarship is valued at $20,000 and is for a minority need based student.
To be eligible for the Jones-Trawick Scholarship you must:
- Be a graduating senior of minority descent currently enrolled at one of the five Pender County Public High Schools
- Demonstrate financial need (include a copy of your FAFSA)
- Academic excellence (minimum weighted GPA of 3.0 for high school)
- Be accepted to attend a four-year accredited college or university
Please include a copy of your letter of acceptance from the college/university of your choosing.
