2024 Wall of Fame Nomination Application
The Wall of Fame is a means of recognizing Pender Local School Alumni and Educators who have distinguished themselves and have exemplified the educational and moral values most honored by our school system and the Pender Education Partnership Foundation.
To be considered for this honor of having a plaque displayed by the school district in a prominent location, as well as honored on the Pender Education Partnership website, a nominee must meet the eligibility requirements. The following criteria shall be used in reviewing a candidate’s eligibility.
Eligibility Criteria
ALUMNI
- The candidate must be a graduate of a Pender high school, including former schools such as CF POPE and Rocky Point Training Center or the nominee must have received a majority of his/her formal education in any Pender County school.
- The candidate shall have distinguished himself/herself in the following area or areas: education, professional accomplishments, political leadership, athletic endeavors, humanitarian contributions, or community contributions.
EDUCATOR
- The nominee was an outstanding educator, spending the majority of his/her career in Pender County Schools.
SELECTION GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES
- Nominations and supporting materials must be made in writing to the Pender Education Partnership. Applications are available online at www.pendereducationpartnership.org or from the school administration office.
- To qualify for induction, nominations must be received no later than April 30, 2024.
- A representative selection committee shall review all applications and make the final determination.
- The selection committee shall be comprised of former educators and business and government representatives.
- All persons making nominations will be informed of the final selection and will be encouraged to resubmit their nominations should their nominees not be selected. Nominees must be contracted before nomination.
- Efforts will be made to select a male and female inductee every year.
- Inductees shall receive a plaque commemorating their selection to the Pender County Wall of Fame.
- The Pender County School Board of Education and Pender Education Partnership will honor inductees at the June 2024 Board of Education meeting.
- Pender Education Partnership and private funding will bear the responsibility for funding the Pender County Wall of Fame.
The primary criteria used to select the nominees will include one or more of the eligibility criteria. Additional information provided concerning activities, responsibilities, and professional achievements will also be considered.
Depending upon the submission of nominations, an attempt will be made to select a male and a female inductee.
